2014 Scholarship Recipient

The recipient of the 2014 Beth Longwell Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Dalia Lopez, a 2014 graduate of Palo Alto High School (PAHS). Dalia now attends California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, California.

While a student at PAHS, Dalia received numerous awards for outstanding academic scholarship, is one of the founders of the Latinos Unidos Club, the Hermanijas Club and served as its president. Dalia also worked part-time with the Palo Alto Housing Corporation tutoring children.

Dalia grew up in Palo Alto with her parents and two brothers. She is the first member of her family to attend college. She describes herself as loving, family minded and hard working. Dalia's dream is to work and help Latino immigrants and to be involved in law enforcement and immigration law.

This past fall at the Beth Longwell Foundation annual dinner and silent auction, Dalia spoke to the attendees about her first year in college and she also thanked the Foundation and Foundation donors for their support.

The Beth Longwell Foundation is delighted with the choice of Dalia Lopez as the 2014 recipient. We believe that Dalia will be successful in her pursuit of a college education and that she will contribute positively to the community. Dalia expressed much appreciation to the Foundation for the scholarship and the assistance it provides for her education.
